My theme is fantasy. My early influences were probably fairy tales and mythology – fantastical creatures with strange bodies, hidden faces in the

furniture, talking animals behaving like humans. I look for creatures in the objects around me and through drawing.  I experiment with unlikely combinations to see what will emerge, prior to making them in clay. I use a white St Thomas clay body and generally raku fire for dramatic effect.
