Jean Lowe makes hand-coiled ceramic ‘pebbles’, ‘rock pools’ and ‘creamed oyster shells’ which challenge the scale of nature.  Strong tides on the River  Medway shape and alter the forms of the stones and pebbles which are revealed at low water; some are smooth and tactile, others are distorted with adhesions and blow holes. These are some of the objects that influence Jean’s work. All work is fired to Stoneware temperatures and is frost resistant.
