Dan’s work investigates exterior and interior perspective, industrial landscape and high-rise architecture. The composition and configuration of man-made structures and their component parts are presented as abstract forms.  The resulting pieces represent physical and emotional responses to optical illusions, pattern, rhythm and balance. Each piece is slab built and decorated with coloured slips using stencils. The pattern of the stencils is made using a mixture of different techniques to get the desired line, and hand cut in order to add or subtract different layers.
