I hand-build vessels – often grouped – which explore the notion of containment and echo the complexities of human relationships. A sense of uniqueness, of what is fragile and precious, is deeply rooted in my work and reflects a heightened awareness of human vulnerability and mortality. Using thinly rolled sheets of paper clay, I work intuitively, piecing the forms together.  Stains, oxides and glazes are used to create subtle washes of colour and enhance surface qualities.
